Trust & Safety
A safer local marketplace starts with verified community context.
Sellr is designed to make local resale clearer and more accountable, while staying honest about the limits of a launch-stage marketplace.
What Sellr Verifies
Sellr focuses on practical community trust cues that are backed by the current product.
- Verified email or phone for account access.
- Active community membership before community-scoped marketplace activity.
- Seller profile context such as member since date, profile completeness, and active listings when available.
- Listing context such as photos, condition, price, approximate pickup area, and item-linked messages.
What Sellr Does Not Claim
- Sellr does not run KYC, background checks, or official identity investigations.
- Sellr does not guarantee items, payments, pickup outcomes, buyer behavior, or seller behavior.
- Sellr does not imply university, workplace, residential, or community endorsement unless explicitly approved and documented.
- Sellr does not expose exact private pickup locations by default.
Safer Marketplace Practices
- Use listing photos, condition notes, and seller context before contacting someone.
- Keep exact pickup details in the conversation and choose public, familiar pickup areas when possible.
- Avoid sending OTP codes, passwords, payment credentials, or sensitive personal details.
- Be careful with pressure to move off-platform, pay before inspecting, or ignore community rules.
Reports And Moderation
Sellr includes reporting and admin review paths for listing, user, and message concerns. Reports should include enough context for a moderator to understand what happened without exposing unrelated private information.
When To Contact Support
Use support for account access, account deletion requests, bugs, confusing flows, or issues that do not fit the in-app report action. For safety issues tied to a listing, member, or message, the in-app report action usually gives moderators better context.
